Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has announced a significant relief measure for the families affected by the tragic incident in Badhaal village of Rajouri district. On Tuesday, Abdullah sanctioned a grant of Rs 30 lakh from the CM's Relief Fund to support the families of the 17 individuals who lost their lives, including 13 children, in December 2024.
The tragedy in Badhaal left a lasting impact on the region, causing profound grief and shock. Acknowledging the severity of the situation, the chief minister took steps to ensure the surviving family members can begin to rebuild their lives with some degree of financial support during these challenging times.
The announcement was met with appreciation from Budhal MLA Javed Iqbal Choudhary, who conveyed his gratitude to Abdullah for the compassionate aid. Choudhary emphasized that this financial assistance was a much-needed gesture of support for the grieving families, helping to alleviate their burden in a time of distress.
