The alleged abuse, which reportedly took place on August 17 in Harpaliya village, came to light after a child escaped and informed his family, leading to demands for strict action by villagers. The gurukul, operational since 2022, serves children from underprivileged backgrounds, including those who are orphaned.
Chauhatan Deputy SP Jeevanlal Khatri has confirmed the detention of the accused, Narayan Giri. Authorities, including a committee led by Block Education Officer Prakash Chand Vishnoi, are conducting a thorough investigation. The incident has highlighted concerns over the institution's oversight and prompted calls for accountability.
