The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has instructed NGOs involved in canine sterilization and immunization to prioritize capturing 'ferocious' dogs from vulnerable areas, backing up their actions with comprehensive records including CCTV footage.
Zonal veterinary officers are tasked to collaborate with NGOs to relocate stray dogs to animal birth control centers, with complete documentation through a mobile app and regular reporting.
Following a Supreme Court mandate, authorities are rapidly establishing dog shelters and working in conjunction with Resident Welfare Associations to identify and report on strays, aiming to improve human safety and animal welfare in urban areas.
