An 85-year-old woman, identified as Rama, was discovered dead with her throat slit, police confirmed on Tuesday. The incident took place as she slept in an open shed outside her home in Banda district's Sindhan Kala village.
Station House Officer, Sukhram Singh, noted that a case has been registered against an unidentified individual, while Rama's body has been sent in for a post-mortem examination. The attack occurred late on Monday night, according to initial reports.
Rama's husband, Gaya Prasad Kushwaha, was inside the house when the murder took place. He suspects that unidentified thieves may have killed his wife, though investigations are still underway.
