The Mumbai police have made significant progress in solving a high-profile robbery, arresting three individuals in connection with a staggering Rs 2 crore theft from a private finance company in south Mumbai's Girgaon area. Officials stated that the arrests occurred following a meticulous investigation on Tuesday.

The first arrest was made in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, where Abdul Rahim Shaikh, a resident of Mumbra, Thane, was apprehended by the crime branch. His subsequent interrogation led to the capture of two more alleged perpetrators, Baijnath Yadav from Mumbai and Munish Paul from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Authorities recovered Rs 35 lakh from Paul.

The robbery, which occurred on September 11, involved armed assailants threatening the driver of a cash-laden vehicle. Initial reports suggested Rs 50 lakh were stolen; however, further probe and examination of call detail records revealed that the actual amount was a hefty Rs 2 crore. Suspicion concerning Yadav's involvement arose from misleading statements and evidence gathered from CCTV footage.
