The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has formally charged Anil Ambani and others in a significant case involving alleged fraudulent transactions. The chargesheets, filed on Thursday, revolve around deals between Ambani's companies RCFL, RHFL, Yes Bank, and business entities linked to the bank's ex-CEO Rana Kapoor.
These transactions reportedly resulted in a financial blow totaling Rs 2,796 crore to Yes Bank. Anil Ambani serves as the chairman of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani (ADA) Group and director of Reliance Capital Limited, the parent company of RCFL and RHFL.
The charges elucidate the network of companies and individuals, including members of Kapoor's family, linked to the case. Notably, there was no immediate response from the ADA Group regarding the charges. The matter, now before a special court in Mumbai, positions Ambani alongside others under various laws, including the Prevention of Corruption Act.
