In a significant operation, police have successfully rescued three women who were coerced into prostitution at a hotel in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The manager of the establishment, a 39-year-old from Patiala, Punjab, has been arrested.
This development followed a raid conducted by the local crime branch and the immoral human trafficking prevention cell on September 18. The hotel, located in Boisar, was identified as the venue where the crimes were occurring.
According to officials, the manager had been drawing women into prostitution and living off the earnings generated from these illegal activities. The accused has been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. Meanwhile, the rescued women have been relocated to a rehabilitation and care center for their safety and recovery.
