A swift police operation culminated in the arrest of 33 individuals from a notorious chain-snatching gang, including 26 women and seven men from Hooghly district, West Bengal.
According to police sources, the suspects had arrived with the intention of engaging in theft activities, such as mobile phone and chain snatching, amidst the bustling Durga Puja festivities.
The breakthrough came when two women, under interrogation following a CCTV-led investigation near Kalbadi temple, confessed their involvement. This led to a swift intervention in Jugsalai, resulting in the capture of all remaining gang members.
