In a significant operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a police inspector and an associate in Phulera, Rajasthan, marking a major breakthrough in anti-bribery efforts. Inspector Chandraprakash Yadav and Happy Mathur, a mobile shop owner, were caught accepting a Rs 50,000 bribe.
The ACB was acting on a complaint that Inspector Yadav, through Mathur, demanded a total of Rs 70,000 to avert the arrest of a complainant's brother implicated in a cybercrime case. ACB's trap led to their arrest on Thursday.
The officials revealed that Mathur had initially collected Rs 20,000 from the complainant. The ACB is continuing its investigation, with further interrogations underway.
