In a chilling incident, an 80-year-old woman and her son-in-law have been found murdered in their home in Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh. Police confirmed on Friday that the duo was strangled by unknown assailants.
The discovery was made by relatives on Friday morning in Raikera village under the Gharghoda police station's jurisdiction. According to Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Siddhant Tiwari, the victims, Sukmet Sidar and her son-in-law Laxman Sidar, appeared to have been killed in their sleep.
Authorities are delving into motives like property feuds or issues related to compensation from a public sector undertaking for land acquisition. While Laxman's family remained unharmed in another room, police are interrogating Laxman's son and a neighbor as part of the investigation.
