Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) are crucial for sustainable rural development and achieving the vision of a developed nation, Minister of State for Panchayati Raj SP Singh Baghel declared on National Panchayati Raj Day. Emphasizing the importance of empowering panchayats, he noted their role in bolstering grassroots democracy and driving rural transformation.
Baghel praised capacity-building programs for their impact on leadership and decision-making, especially among women. Transparent governance and direct benefit transfers play a vital role in enhancing service delivery. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended public representatives for their inspiring dedication to public service.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj emphasized fiscal reforms and technological innovations like e-GramSwaraj in boosting rural efficiency. The Panchayat Advancement Index 2.0 was unveiled, showcasing the engagement of 97.3% of panchayats. Publications on rural heritage were released, celebrating the event nationwide.
