Delhi Police have successfully apprehended Mohit Sharma, a 44-year-old alleged leader of an inter-state temple theft ring, known for specializing in the theft of silver idols and donation items from shrines situated across several Indian states.

Sharma, branded as a proclaimed offender by a Punjab court, has been on the run due to his involvement in multiple temple theft cases spanning Punjab, Kerala, and Karnataka. To avoid capture, he frequently relocated and kept minimal contact in any given area.

Expert in identifying secluded and poorly guarded temples, Sharma executed his thefts during late-night or early morning hours. His arrest followed a strategic police trap in Delhi, marking the end of his long-standing evasion from the law.
