In a major international law enforcement action, Prabhdeep Singh, a fugitive drug trafficker, was extradited from Azerbaijan to India on Wednesday. His extradition was meticulously planned and executed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in collaboration with Interpol and Indian ministries.
The extradition comes after Singh was geo-located and arrested by Azerbaijani authorities, following a Red Notice issued by Interpol at the behest of the Delhi Police. Singh is the main suspect in a narcotics case involving a significant quantity of illegal substances, registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, at Delhi's Special Cell Police Station.
A dedicated three-member escort team from the Delhi Police traveled to Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, to ensure Singh's safe return to Delhi, marking a significant step forward in dismantling the narcotic network he orchestrated.
