In a significant legal development, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has decreed that the Bhojshala complex in Dhar district is a temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. This ruling marks a major victory for the Hindu community, who have long contended the site's sacred status.

The court overturned an April 2003 order by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) that had allowed the complex to function as a shared religious site, permitting Muslims to offer Friday prayers. In its verdict, the court suggested the Muslim community might request separate land for mosque construction.

The complex's historical significance was underscored with evidence from an ASI survey revealing ties to the Parmar dynasty. This resolution concludes an extended legal conflict, with implications for both Hindu and Muslim communities in the region.
