On Monday, Shibu Baby John, a newly sworn-in minister in Kerala, revealed plans for a round-the-clock call centre focused on addressing human-wildlife conflicts in the region.
Despite the absence of official portfolio announcements from Chief Minister V D Satheesan, John assured reporters he has taken charge of the Forest Department, underlining his commitment to fostering harmony between humans and wildlife while supporting local farmers.
The minister stressed that the proposed call centre will ensure prompt action and response from his department, setting a new precedent for addressing such conflicts within his tenure.
