Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Monday that India is now predominantly free from the three major internal security challenges: Naxalism, terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, and insurgency in the Northeast. Speaking in Bastar's former Maoist stronghold of Jagdalpur, Shah lauded the success of security personnel and emphasized ongoing efforts for peace and progress.
While chairing the 26th central zonal council meeting in Jagdalpur, Shah highlighted the government's vision to develop Bastar as India's most advanced tribal area in five years. He urged the local communities to welcome surrendered Naxals and facilitate their integration into mainstream society. Shah praised the CRPF, CoBRA, and Chhattisgarh Police for their pivotal roles in anti-Naxal operations.
Further, Shah announced plans to redevelop 70 of the 200 CAPF camps in Chhattisgarh as public service centers, focusing on community development. He reassured that the government will ensure infrastructure and welfare services in Bastar, marking a new chapter in the region's history.
