Church Leaders Ignite Hope for Peace in Manipur

In a concerted effort to resolve the mounting tensions between Manipur's Naga and Kuki communities, two church teams have embarked on a mission to broker peace. The initiative follows the abduction of 38 individuals, sparking unrest across the region.
This peace gesture, spearheaded by the Council for Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI) and the Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC), was warmly received by Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh. During a key meeting, church leaders assured Singh of their commitment to fostering dialogue between the conflicting communities.
The church teams, visiting Kangpokpi and Senapati districts respectively, aim to engage with community leaders and affected families. Their mission is to promote the immediate release of hostages on humanitarian grounds and to express condolences to families who have lost loved ones in recent violence.
