A tragedy unfolded in Samastipur, Bihar, as a boat carrying 14 individuals capsized early Thursday morning, claiming three lives and leaving four people missing.
The accident occurred at 5:45 am when the group was returning from Sultanpur Diara. Officials reported that despite strong winds, the boat attempted its journey, resulting in the accident.
Patna's district magistrate, SM Thiyagarajan, shared that the boat capsized due to strong winds combined with the motor malfunctioning. Teams from Samastipur and Patna have joined forces to conduct rescue operations.
Barh's SDPO-1, Ram Krishna, confirmed that three bodies have been recovered through the concerted efforts of local divers along with NDRF and SDRF personnel. The precise search continues for the remaining missing individuals.
