In an intensified effort to dismantle drug networks in Jammu and Kashmir, law enforcement has seized properties valued at about Rs 2 crore, allegedly bought with illicit drugs profits, officials announced.

The properties, which include several houses, were linked to individuals reportedly involved in narcotics-related activities. The actions were part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, aimed at ridding the region of drug influence, said police.

Among the seizures was property worth Rs 1.5 crore, associated with Mudasir Ahmad Pir from Bemina. The seizures, which included a house and land, were made under legal provisions following the validation by the Competent Authority.

Another property, valued at Rs 50 lakh and connected to Shafiq Ahmad Khawaja from Kupwara, was also seized. All actions were conducted in line with the NDPS Act after investigations confirmed the origins of the property funds.
