Fire Devastates Shop Near India-Nepal Border

A fire broke out on Saturday morning at a shop situated near the 'No Man's Land' between India and Nepal's border in Sonauli. The blaze destroyed merchandise valued in the lakhs, as confirmed by local police.

Rapid response by fire services from both nations successfully contained the flames, avoiding damage to surrounding businesses. The incident occurred when oil being heated by shop owner Vinod Kumar for chip preparation became too hot and ignited. Fortunately, there were no casualties, although the shop's contents were consumed by the fire.

The intense flames and thick smoke caused alarm among local traders and residents. Prompt actions by security agencies, including Sashastra Seema Bal, aided in evacuating people to safer areas. Firefighters effectively controlled the situation, and the main road was briefly closed as a precautionary measure. Traffic resumed after authorities ensured the area was safe.
