In a tragic turn of events, three young boys drowned in a lake in Karnataka's Dharwad district. The incident occurred on Saturday near Singanahalli village and has left the local community in shock.
The boys, aged 12, 15, and 16, had visited the lake for a swim during their summer holiday. Using a thermocol sheet as a flotation device, they entered the water but sadly became trapped due to heavy silt deposits. A nearby boy, fishing, raised the alarm when he noticed their struggle, but by the time help arrived, it was too late.
Dharwad police and the Fire and Emergency Services swiftly retrieved their bodies, and an investigation is underway. Authorities plan to hold awareness programs to educate families about potential summertime dangers near water bodies.
Officials emphasize the importance of supervising children during the vacation period to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
