Myanmar's President Aung Hlaing Engages in Strategic Talks with India

Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing has commenced a significant five-day visit to India, with aims to boost the partnership between the two countries. He has already met External Affairs Minister Jaishankar to discuss essential bilateral matters such as trade, defence, and connectivity.

Arriving earlier in the day, Aung Hlaing began his trip at the Mahabodhi Temple before making his way to the capital. His visit, occurring shortly after assuming office, reiterates the importance India places on its neighbour, strategically positioned with a 1,640-kilometre shared border.

The visit highlights the potential for increased cooperation between India and Myanmar, touching on border security issues and the advancement of India's MAHASAGAR vision. The Myanmar leader will continue his engagements with a business forum participation and a planned interaction in Mumbai focusing on industrial opportunities.
