The 'Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan', launched on April 11 by Manoj Sinha, represents the most extensive crackdown on drug trafficking and narco-terrorism in the region. Over 1,000 peddlers have been arrested, with the police recording 923 FIRs related to narcotics offenses during the campaign's first phase.

Authorities have seized 341 kg of drugs and attached properties valued at more than Rs 200 crore, signaling a direct assault on the illegal drug trade's financial infrastructure. The effort not only targets offenders but aims to dismantle the underlying drug trafficking networks across Jammu and Kashmir.

Apart from confiscating narcotics, officials have penalized chemists with 120 licenses facing actions, suspended driving licenses, and enhanced drug awareness across the territory. Rehabilitation and counseling services have been strengthened, supporting thousands of patients seeking to overcome addiction.

The campaign has been marked by significant public engagement, with 'padyatras' led by the Lt Governor gathering extensive community support. Sinha emphasized that all hidden narcotics networks are being eradicated to prevent Jammu and Kashmir from becoming safe zones for traffickers.
