An incident involving the fatal shooting of national-level para-athlete Chirag Tyagi in Ghaziabad has resulted in the arrest of a fellow para-athlete. Authorities suspect the motive was revenge following an eligibility complaint during a document verification process.
Chirag Tyagi, a 24-year-old gold medallist, was found deceased near Sai Upvan after returning from a training camp. His family last spoke with him on Saturday morning before his phone became unreachable. The investigation led to the detention of Yash Khatik, who reportedly confessed to shooting Tyagi due to grievances stemming from the complaint.
Police are in the process of recovering the weapon used and continue to gather evidence as part of their comprehensive investigation.
