Khattar Calls for Swift Urban Cleanliness Strategy in Mizoram
Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has urged Mizoram's authorities to devise a prompt action plan for enhancing urban cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat Mission. He emphasized adhering to the Centre's priorities and urged timely state contributions to the initiative.

Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, conducted a comprehensive review of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban implementation in Mizoram. He urged state authorities to develop a prompt plan for improving urban cleanliness.
Khattar underlined 18 cleanliness-related issues that align with priorities set by Narendra Modi during a recent PRAGATI meeting. He directed state officials to craft a detailed plan with clear timelines to address existing gaps.
He also pressed for the state's speedy release of its 10% share in the mission funding, highlighting the Centre's commitment with its 90% contribution. Mizoram officials, including Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Minister K Sapdanga, participated in the discussions.
Additionally, Khattar announced that the ministry would provide local youths with training in advanced technologies aimed at processing legacy waste, with plans to extend similar programs to other northeastern states.
