Norway's Labour Party: Set for a Close Victory in Parliamentary Elections
Norway's Labour Party, led by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere, is favored to win the upcoming parliamentary election. Despite expected reduced majority seats, Stoere's appointment of Jens Stoltenberg as finance minister has bolstered Labour's standing amid global instability. Labour aims to maintain power over the centre-right opposition.

An opinion poll has revealed that Norway's ruling Labour Party and its left-leaning allies are favorites to win next month's parliamentary elections, albeit with a reduced majority of seats. Despite governing in a minority, Labour Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere is seeking a second term to prevent right-wing parties from taking power.
In a strategic move, Stoere appointed former NATO head Jens Stoltenberg as finance minister, which has increased Labour's popularity amid concerns about the war in Ukraine and global trade disruptions. The poll suggests Labour and left-wing groups could secure 88 of the 169 assembly seats.
Labour enjoys steady support with 26.7%, maintaining an edge over the Progress Party and the Conservatives. National security and economic issues are central to the campaign, with the election set for September 8. Unlike other parts of Europe, no party has sought U.S. political endorsement.
