The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Karnataka has requested Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to provide a list of voters he alleges were improperly included or excluded from the electoral rolls. This comes in response to Gandhi's claims of vote fraud during a recent press conference.
In his address, Gandhi alleged malpractices in Karnataka's voter lists, citing discrepancies such as duplicate voters, fake addresses, and misuse of Form 6. He claimed these issues have led to 'vote chori' or theft involving over 1,00,250 votes in a constituency.
The Karnataka CEO has asked Gandhi to submit a signed declaration and the names of the electors in question to initiate necessary proceedings. Electoral Commission officials expect this declaration by the end of the day.
