In a strategic move to champion voter rights, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' from Sasaram, Bihar on August 17. The campaign aims to raise awareness and protest against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
This 1,300-kilometer journey, lasting 16 days, features participation from the Mahagathbandhan's Rahul Gandhi alongside Tejashwi Yadav and Left party representatives. Conducted in a hybrid manner akin to the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the event will conclude with a prominent rally in Patna's Gandhi Maidan on September 1.
The rally will feature key INDIA alliance leaders, marking the launch of Bihar's assembly election campaign. Concerns over the deletion of 65 lakh voter names during the SIR process will be a focal point, reflecting the opposition's persistent request for parliamentary discourse on the matter.
