In a significant move ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar engaged in a courtesy meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a senior JD(U) leader confirmed on Thursday. Kumar, who also presides over the JD(U), met Shah at a local hotel.
The JD(U) remains a crucial coalition partner within the NDA. While the specifics of the conversation were not revealed, the meeting underscores the alignment between key political players as elections approach. Shah, arriving in Patna on Wednesday night, has planned strategic meetings in the Rohtas and Begusarai districts on Thursday.
These discussions, involving BJP leaders and workers, aim to solidify plans for the upcoming electoral contest. State BJP President Dilip Jaiswal announced that Shah will also engage with party members from 10 districts in the Magadh-Shahabad region, underscoring the BJP's focus on consolidating support ahead of the elections.
