Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has taken a strong stance against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's remarks involving 'Gen-Z' in the context of safeguarding the Constitution and democracy. Joshi labeled Gandhi's allegations of vote rigging in Karnataka as baseless and driven by desperation, affirming that India will not accept power obtained through undemocratic means.
The BJP leader, hailing from Karnataka, refuted Gandhi's claims of manipulation in the Aland assembly seat's voter list, describing them as nonsensical. Joshi highlighted the Karnataka HC ruling that set aside Congressman K Y Nanjegowda's election in Malur and ordered a vote recount, urging Gandhi to address such critical issues with consistency.
Commenting on Gandhi's appeal to Gen-Z, Joshi took issue with comparisons of India to Nepal and Sri Lanka, insisting India's electoral system remains robust. He criticized Gandhi's rhetoric as confusing and unnecessary, while praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and transparency in the Election Commission appointment process.
