Gupta visited Jammu to pay respects at the Daati Maa Dev Sthan temple, a significant site for his family, located in the Arnia border belt. During a media interaction, he expressed gratitude to his ancestral deity for her blessings and his ability to serve the region.
Recent violent protests in Leh on September 24, advocating for Ladakh's statehood and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, resulted in four civilian deaths due to police firing, with many injured.
