In West Bengal, political tensions have heightened following attacks on BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh in Paschim Medinipur. BJP leader Dilip Ghosh criticized the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, accusing it of fostering political violence and highlighting a pattern of intolerance toward opposition activities.

Accusing the TMC of being responsible for increased violence, Ghosh condemned the forced halting of the Ravana Dahan event by TMC supporters, alleging their involvement in creating unrest. The attack on BJP figures occurred on October 6, during visits to flood-hit areas for relief efforts, further inflaming political discourse.

Meanwhile, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh denied party ties to the attack, questioning BJP's internal issues inciting public outrage. While West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee met the injured BJP MP, the blame game reflects deep-seated schisms in state politics amid calls to oppose what some describe as 'hooliganism' dominating governance.
