Political Turmoil: AAP MPs Merge with BJP Amidst Controversy

In a significant political development, seven Rajya Sabha members from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have shifted allegiances to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Raut alleged that the defecting MPs, including Raghav Chadha, were driven by fear, being 'wealthy and in need of protection'. He described them as 'Page 3 leaders' and condemned BJP's politics, aligning it with shamelessness, citing recent raids over alleged financial improprieties faced by Ashok Mittal, one of the defectors.

The development comes in the wake of pressures within political circles, with Raut recalling his refusal to join BJP despite significant coercion, which led to his arrest on purported money laundering charges. The political climate remains tense as the BJP continues to consolidate power.
