Former Army Chief General (retd) Manoj Naravane has endorsed the call for enhanced dialogue with Pakistan, aligning with RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale's advocacy for people-to-people connections. Naravane highlighted that ordinary citizens on both sides of the border share similar fundamental struggles, emphasizing the importance of such engagements.
Speaking on the sidelines of a book signing event on Wednesday, Naravane remarked that fostering friendship among citizens could pave the way for improved bilateral relations. He stressed that while discussions are essential, India would not shy away from using military force if required.
Echoing sentiments expressed by Hosabale in a recent interview, Naravane stated that civil society must lead efforts to heal rifts, as political and military leadership in Pakistan has yet to regain India's trust. He advocated for initiatives like 'track two' diplomacy and suggested sporting events as a means to facilitate these crucial interactions.
