RJD Clinches Victory in Bihar By-Election, Setback for NDA

The opposition RJD in Bihar achieved a significant win by clinching the Bhojpur-Buxar legislative council seat in a by-election, defeating the ruling NDA's Kanhaiya Sah by 340 votes. The by-election followed JD(U) MLC Radha Charan Sah's resignation upon his election to the assembly.

The closely watched contest saw around 5,500 valid votes cast, with the local bodies of Bhojpur and Buxar participating in the process. RJD working president Tejashwi Yadav celebrated the victory, attributing it to alleged EVM manipulation in the previous Vidhan Sabha polls.

Yadav emphasized the election outcome as evidence of the need to revert to ballot paper voting, as the RJD had initially secured a lead in many assembly seats during postal ballot counting. Despite setbacks, the RJD's win suggests shifting political dynamics in the state.
