In an unfolding controversy that has stirred the nation, Congress MP Manoj Kumar escalated his criticism against the Centre over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, describing the incident as a grave betrayal of the country. Speaking to ANI, Kumar called for accountability at the highest levels.

The opposition's pressure on the government has intensified, with widespread protests by students across India demanding justice and transparency in the medical entrance exams. Kumar stressed that the NEET paper leak is not an isolated incident and questioned the integrity of related officials, specifically calling out Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for his accountability.

Simultaneously, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) staged a vehement protest in front of the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters in Delhi, symbolically locking and chaining the gates, pressing for systemic changes and accountability following the NEET's cancellation. Their demonstrations coincide with a CBI investigation into the scandal, especially after a young aspirant's tragic suicide in Azadpur.

The Central Bureau of Investigation revealed significant developments by apprehending a key figure in the leak, identified as Chemistry lecturer PV Kulkarni. He, along with his associate Manisha Waghmare, allegedly ran special coaching sessions using the leaked questions, leading to their arrest among others.

In response to the uproar, Education Minister Pradhan announced a rescheduled NEET-UG examination for June 21, transitioning to a Computer-Based Test model next year to enhance transparency. Pradhan reassured students of his commitment to safeguarding the fairness of the exam and prioritizing their educational futures. (ANI)
