AIADMK Veteran Resigns Amid Internal Strife

On Monday, prominent All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader S Semmalai announced his resignation, citing dissatisfaction with the party's internal dynamics. Semmalai addressed his decision to AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, noting discontent over recent events and expressing deep concerns about the party's future.

In his resignation letter, Semmalai articulated the immense mental anguish caused by the developments post-elections, indicating that this sentiment is shared by numerous party workers. He questioned whether the current scenario aligns with the legacy of AIADMK's founding figures, M.G. Ramachandran and J. Jayalalithaa.

Semmalai further highlighted how internal conflicts have marred the party's public perception. Despite a longstanding political career and the support of iconic leaders like MGR and Jayalalithaa, Semmalai expressed disillusionment, declaring his resignation both from his position and the party, citing the inability to align with its current state.
