Congress Upholds Nehru's Panchayati Raj Vision, Says Dotasra

During a party training camp in Pushkar, Rajasthan Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra highlighted how the party has advanced Jawaharlal Nehru's vision for grassroots democracy through panchayati raj. Dotasra reiterated Nehru's belief that democracy should originate from villages, ensuring that governance is decentralized and power reaches the people effectively.

He recalled that Nehru initiated the first panchayati raj system in Nagaur, Rajasthan, on October 2, 1959, marking a significant step in national development and social justice. The camp also included discussions on women's empowerment, where All India Mahila Congress leader Alka Lamba spoke on Nari Nyay and political participation of women, advocating for the 33% reservation implemented by Congress in these institutions.

Opposition leader Tikaram Jully emphasized the importance of grassroots organization for the Congress party and urged district presidents to spread the party's ideology across the state. Meanwhile, Sarika Singh of Rajasthan Mahila Congress called for increased political opportunities for women to strengthen their participation in leadership roles.
