In a significant political development, the West Bengal cabinet witnessed an expansive reshuffling as 35 new ministers were sworn in at the Lok Bhawan in Kolkata on Monday. Governor R N Ravi presided over the swearing-in ceremony, marking a substantial increase in the council's strength, now totaling 41 members under the leadership of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.

The induction of MLAs such as Dipak Barman, Arjun Singh, Shankar Ghosh, and several others underscores the state government's commitment to bolstering its administrative capacity. The occasion at Lok Bhawan highlighted the redistribution of responsibilities and growing portfolios among the newly appointed ministers.

Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Arjun Singh, now part of the expanded cabinet, expressed eagerness in taking on new roles aligned with party and public expectations. In his conversation with ANI, Singh emphasized his dedication to fulfilling responsibilities entrusted by the party and the electorate, reaffirming his alignment with the government's developmental agenda.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had previously announced the introduction of 35 new ministers in a statement on Sunday, setting the stage for this week's ceremony. Via a post on X, Adhikari stated the commitment of the administration to meet the aspirations of West Bengal's citizens, as Governor RN Ravi led the oath-taking procedures.
