India Braces for Heatwave: IMD Predicts Rising Temperatures and Rainfall

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the onset of a heatwave across eastern India, starting Thursday, as the northwest and central regions continue to experience thunderstorms.
Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is anticipated over the northeast until May 11, while Gujarat could face similar conditions until Thursday.
Despite the prediction of above-normal temperatures for May, temporary thunderstorm activity is expected to prevent extreme heat levels comparable to last year.
