In a bid to curb unauthorized constructions and address civic challenges, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) will actively work towards these goals.
Speaking at the inauguration of a HYDRAA police station, Reddy highlighted the civic issues of several major Indian cities and warned against Hyderabad facing similar crises.
Critics, including the opposition BRS, have labeled HYDRAA as anti-poor, but the CM emphasized its focus on both prevention of encroachment and city development, citing efforts like reviving the encroached Bathukamma Kunta water body.
