Delhi PWD Amplifies Flood Control with CCTV Surveillance
The Public Works Department (PWD) in Delhi plans to install CCTV cameras at Moolchand and Pul Prahladpur underpasses to monitor waterlogging. The initiative, including new drain lines and deploying water pumps, aims to curb flooding in South and Central Delhi, an ongoing issue affecting traffic flow.

In a bid to effectively tackle the persistent issue of waterlogging, the Public Works Department (PWD) in Delhi is set to install CCTV cameras at the Moolchand and Pul Prahladpur underpasses.
This move will enable real-time monitoring from the PWD's flood control room, assisting in prompt decision-making based on current conditions. According to officials, the plan involves installing eight bullet cameras and three dome cameras, alongside other supportive equipment to ensure a seamless live feed to a cloud-based monitoring system.
The measure comes after the underpasses experienced severe waterlogging following heavy rains last June, which disrupted traffic in South and South-East Delhi. Additional plans include renting 1,800 water pump sets for Central Delhi's flood-prone areas like ITO.
