Weather Alert: Heatwaves and Heavy Rain Forecast in West Bengal

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for West Bengal, predicting heatwave conditions in several southern districts while forecasting heavy rainfall in the sub-Himalayan areas.
According to the IMD, day temperatures are expected to remain constant for the next four to five days across West Bengal, after which a slight decrease of two to three degrees Celsius is anticipated.
Specific areas in Paschim Bardhaman, Bankura, Jhargram, Paschim Medinipur, and Birbhum will likely experience heatwave conditions until May 15. Meanwhile, heavy rain is forecasted in the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, and Alipurduar due to moisture availability and a trough stretching from central Bihar to south Jharkhand.
