The incident unfolded around 3:45 am on July 6, while Singh, a Kotla Mubarakpur resident, was en route to Okhla mandi in his rickshaw. An unidentified, speeding vehicle reportedly struck him, and its driver fled the scene.
Although authorities received a prompt PCR call and raced to the scene, Singh was already transported to AIIMS Trauma Centre with severe injuries. Lack of CCTV footage has hindered vehicle identification, but a case has been registered with ongoing investigations by the police.
