A pregnant woman in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district was forced to endure a harrowing journey when heavy rainfall left the roads to her home unmotorable. The woman, identified as Chanchal, experienced severe labor pains, leading her family to call for an ambulance.
However, due to waterlogging on the approach road in Barokhri village, the ambulance couldn't reach her home. Consequently, four individuals carried her on a cot through the slushy terrain to the waiting vehicle. The incident has been widely circulated on social media, highlighting infrastructure issues in rural areas.
District panchayat CEO Sunil Dubey announced an inquiry to determine the responsible department for the road's poor condition. Dubey also noted that limited funding for gram panchayats often hinders the completion of crucial development projects, particularly during monsoon.
