In a tragic turn of events, a flash flood induced by a cloudburst swept through Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, on Monday night, resulting in the deaths of three individuals.
The deluge buried over 20 vehicles, flooded numerous homes, and led to the closure of schools, colleges, and roads. With nearly 198.6 mm of rainfall recorded in just one evening, the city's infrastructure struggled to cope with the intense water flow, leading to extensive damage.
Local authorities, aided by the National Disaster Response Force and other departments, are engaged in ongoing rescue and restoration operations. The devastation compounds the state's monsoon woes, with significant loss of life and property reported since late June.
