Tragedy Strikes in Jharkhand: Woman Killed by Elephants

A tragic incident unfolded in Jharkhand's Palamu district on Tuesday when a 52-year-old woman named Samudri Kunwar was trampled to death by a herd of elephants, a forest department official reported.
According to the official, Kunwar was working in a field near Salaiya village when the elephants suddenly surrounded her and another woman, who managed to escape unharmed.
Kunwar's family received Rs 50,000 as immediate relief, and the Jharkhand government offers Rs 4 lakh in compensation for deaths resulting from elephant attacks.
