In the wake of severe damage to infrastructure around Dharali village, air rescue operations are accelerating to evacuate stranded pilgrims. With roads unusable, authorities are deploying helicopters extensively, aiming to expedite the rescue and relief process.
Officials confirmed that six individuals have been safely relocated to the ITBP's Matli helipad using air support. The Indian Air Force, in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Authority, is utilizing advanced machinery and helicopters like the Chinook and Mi-17 to facilitate these efforts.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is overseeing operations directly from Uttarkashi's district headquarters. With supplies being airlifted and support from the central government, the focus remains on safe evacuations and rapid restoration of essential services.
