Maharashtra's Mega Connectivity Leap: Linking Cities and Enhancing Commute

The Maharashtra government has taken a substantial leap in enhancing connectivity across the state with the approval of several key infrastructure projects. A 25-kilometer elevated corridor will directly connect Thane with the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, promising high-speed transit for commuters and businesses.
Presided over by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure sanctioned the ambitious Metro Line 11. This 16-km fully underground metro from Wadala depot to Gateway of India will be financially backed by Japan's JICA. The line is set to transform urban travel with state-of-the-art amenities and generate revenue through a joint commercial project with BEST.
To further modernize public transit, phases 3 and 3A of the Mumbai Urban Transport Project will introduce 268 air-conditioned local train coaches with automatic doors. Additional railway lines will bolster the Pune-Lonavala corridor, supporting economic and residential growth. New developments in Nagpur and Pune aim to ease traffic and support urban expansion.
