Lucknow experienced a tragic incident on Tuesday afternoon when a Peepal tree uprooted in the Kaisarbagh Fish Market area, resulting in the death of a 70-year-old man named Ramu Devnath. Four others were injured but are reported to be out of danger after receiving treatment at Balrampur Hospital.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak visited the hospital to ensure that the injured were receiving proper care. Authorities have been tasked with identifying and removing old trees in the area to prevent future accidents. Among the injured are Mohd Rizwan, Mohd Shoaib, Mohd Armaan Rasool, and Abhishek Yadav.
Eyewitnesses claim heavy rainfall could have contributed to the tree's collapse, damaging nearby houses and endangering lives. The police and fire brigade were quick to respond, initiating rescue operations promptly. The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of aged trees in residential areas.
